EMPLOYEE BENEFITS PRODUCER
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
Position available in Charlotte, NC

JOB SUMMARY

The EB Producer will increase and enhance the sales efforts within the Employee Benefits Division, thereby increasing new sales and revenue to McNeary. It will require a self-starting and highly motivated individual with an outgoing personality, good organization skills, good negotiation skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in balancing the needs and requirements of both clients and insurers. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of insurance brokerage experience, including strong technical background in health and welfare benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Correspond in person and by telephone and in writing with prospects and clients.
  • Develop and maintain sales data pertinent to prospects and clients.
  • Work in coordination with others in the company as assigned.
  • Submit new business forms as appropriate.
  • Create and update Brokerage Builder files on sales prospects.
  • Utilize sales leads to arrange sales appointments.
  • Prepare, deliver, send, and present sales proposals.
  • Work with others within the organization to develop new services.
  • Work with others within the organization to develop sales goals, plans, and budgets.
  • Regular attendance in order to fulfill the requirements of the job

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications are:
  • Four-year college degree
  • Five years of experience within the employee benefits industry
  • Hold a current L&H (Life and Health) License
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • High degree of self-discipline and motivation
  • High level of organizational ability
  • Ability to work well with people/have empathy
  • Willingness to continue education
  • Ability to negotiate and persuade
  • This position requires extensive knowledge of insurance principles, coverages, and policies and a familiarity with the current markets/environment in the employee benefits insurance industry.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The environment in which the job is performed is nothing unique of conditions inside a normal professional office environment.

SUCCESS FACTORS:

  • Ability to work well in a loosely controlled environment where objectives are defined, but the means to achieve these goals are largely at the discretion of the individual.
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly manner and work effectively with others is essential.
  • This position must be able to analyze a variety of situations to determine the correct solution and implement the effective course of action.
